If you’re like most Americans, you spend most of your time indoors. While staying indoors has its benefits (like not getting sunburned) it has its share of cons – one of the biggest is not getting enough fresh air. Plus, indoor air quality is 2 to 5 times worse than outdoors! That’s why it’s important to have an air purifier where you spend the most time – at work or home. There are a plethora of models on the market, but not all are up to snuff. We’ve already featured the Rabbit Air MINUSA2 but if you’re still in search of a high-quality air purification system, we’ve found another great model, the Molekule Air Purifier. But which performs better?
How does the Molekule Air Purifier measure up?
First and foremost, let’s talk about style. The Rabbit Air MinusA2 is a tough contender with its sleek and modern design that lets you mount it on the wall. The Molekule Air Purifier does not accommodate wall mounting.
It sits upright on the floor and has a handle for easy carrying. Unlike the MinusA2 it’s much lighter in weight at 18 pounds. It is also modern, with a brushed silver finish but it doesn’t have the cool color-changing light like the MinusA2.
Air filtration power
When it comes to air filtration the MinusA2 removes 99.97% of all particles greater than 0.3 micrometers using HEPA, Charcoal-Based Activated Carbon Filter, washable pre-filter, and a customized filter. But how well does the Molekule Air filter contaminants? It uses a system called PECO (Photo Electrochemical Oxidation)that actually destroys pollutants, including VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) and mold.
Molekule Air uses just two filters. The Pre-Filter captures particles bigger particles like pet hair or dust but the PECO-Filter breaks down VOCs, bacteria, mold, viruses, allergens, and other pollutants. Interestingly, Molekule says “HEPA technology isn’t designed to remove the smallest pollutants, like VOCs. PECO destroys VOCs.” Therefore, it’s pretty clear that if you’re looking for an air purifier that does eliminate VOCs from the air, the Molekule Air Purifier is your best bet.
Other features to consider
One of the biggest pros of the MinusA2 is its silent and auto settings. Want the room super-quiet? Turn it on silent mode. If you want it to detect when the air quality is not so great, select auto mode so it will automatically increase the speed it filters the air.
Both air purifiers are so advanced, they have their own app. The Molekule Air Purifier can be connected to the Molekule smartphone app to control the device when you’re away. Plus, it even tells you when the filter needs to be changed.
Both the MinusA2 and Molukule Air Purifier are certainly neck-in-neck when it comes to delivering the best qualities. What it comes down to is this: if you want the most stylish air purifier of the two, the MinusA2 is definitely the number 1 pick. However, if you want an air purifier machine that eliminates particles instead of just trap them, the Molekule Air Purifier is the best option.
